We are hosting two programs in April 2021: Astronomy for grades 3-4 and Engineering for 5-6.

 

Each workshop consists of lessons and hands-on activities (i.e. science experiments) for students to participate in. As a result, students are required to provide their own materials that will be used during the workshops.

 

Below is more information about each program. You may find the required materials for each workshop below as well.

Astronomy
Grades 3-4
Saturdays, 11-12 PM PST/1-2 PM CST/2-3 PM EST
The DEADLINE to register for the April Workshops is March 27th, 2021. Expect to hear a reply from us confirming that your student has registered within a week of submission.

1. The Moon

April 3rd

Materials: flashlight, ball, pencil, cake tin, flour, sprinkles, cocoa powder, rocks, paper towels, spoon

2. Rocket Science

April 10th

Materials: balloon, straw, scissors, chairs, duct tape, string, paper, paper clips, cardboard box, magnets, glue, black paper

3. The Solar System

April 24th

Materials: balloon, tin foil, scissors, markers, yarn, embroidery hoop, glue, paper

4. Stargazing: Finding Stars & Constellations

May 1st

Materials: empty toilet paper roll, pushpin, cardboard, constellation print out, black paper, flashlight

Grades 5-6

3. Engineering Machinery: Catapults & Pulleys

April 24th

Materials: popsicle sticks, rubber bands, bottle cap, liquid glue, dixie cup, string, cardboard, scissors, chopsticks

4. Civil Engineering

May 1st

Materials: box of jello, water, baking dish, toothpicks, mini-marshmallows, paper, pencil, popsicle sticks, binder clips, glue, cardboard
